What is the minimum age for renting cars in Dubai?
Minimum age requirement for renting a car in Dubai is 21 years.
For certain car types, additional fees can apply for the drivers aged below 25 years (Please contact our Customer Services for more information)
I am a tourist in Dubai; will my home country’s driving license be accepted to rent or drive a car in UAE?
Driving Licenses of following countries are acceptable in UAE and Dubai. In case your home-country doesn’t fall in the below list, you can rent a car from us by showing your International Driving License.

Do I need to pay any security deposit before renting a car in Dubai?
Yes, security deposit is required for every rental car. Deposit will be returned after 25 days of returning the rented car.
Are there any additional pick-up or drop-off charges of rented cars in Dubai?
We provide FREE OF COST pick-up and drop-off for all our luxury rent a cars in Dubai. However, for other cars there is a very minimal amount which should be paid as pick-up or drop-off charges.
Do you entertain Special Requests such as availability of child car seat or full fuel tank?
Yes, we provide child car seats and can also provide facility of full fuel tank with some additional charges.
Do you offer long-term car rental services in Dubai?
We offer you with the best services possible at Thomson’s and are striving to improve our standards. Currently we are offering car rental services on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Are luxury cars cheap to rent in Dubai?
As compared to European countries, luxury cars are cheaper to rent in Dubai because of the less tax amount and low fuel costs.
What documents are required for renting a car in Dubai through Thomson Rent A Car?
Driving License-Holders of GCC Countries
People from all GCC Countries having GCC Driving License can rent any car by providing the following documents:
- Scanned copy / Photograph of Identity Card
- Scanned copy / Photograph of Driving License
Driving License-Holders of Specific Countries
All the people who are citizens of the above mentioned countries and hold driving license from their respective country need to provide the following documents to rent cars from us:
- Scanned copy / Photograph of Passport
- Scanned copy / Photograph of Driving License
Driving License-Holders of all other countries
Citizens of all other countries which are not listed in the above list are required to provide the following documents:
- Scanned copy / Photograph of International Driving License
- Scanned copy / Photograph of Passport
